Excitement is in store for all those who make their way to Chicago for the 9th International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in Chicago this summer. OK, so we're actually in Bloomingdale, IL, which is a suburb of Chicago, but you get the picture. This conference will have many new things associated with it: online registration, a new childcare company, new activities, special entertainment and more. You don't want to miss it!

The conference will begin on Friday morning, July 24th, and conclude on Sunday, July 26th, at noon. There will be an informal get-together on Thursday evening. Childcare will be provided for all children who have registered for childcare during the meetings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Registration for the conference is available online. If you prefer a hard copy registration form, please call our office. You are urged to register early so we may plan for childcare, meeting room space, etc. Childcare can only be planned for those children on whom we have complete information. Childcare registration is a separate registration process and is also be available online.

You do not need to include payment when you register. However, payment must be received by June 15th or there will be a $50 late fee. No registrations will be accepted after June 30th. You may charge your registration to a major credit card at anytime via the PayPal button which is available at our Online Conference Headquarters. You may also call our office at 800-442-7604 to arrange payment. No partial payments can be accepted.

Group meals are planned as follows: Friday, July 24 - breakfast and lunch; Saturday, July 25 - breakfast, lunch and dinner; Sunday, July 26 - breakfast. These meals are included in your registration fee.

To help you plan your conference budget, here are the fees and hotel rates:

Members, including family members 16 & up	$175.00
Adult non-members	$215.00
One-day Option	$115.00
Professional Day (July 23) (no childcare)	$90.00

Cancellations after June 30 are subject to a $25 fee per registration.

The hotel rate is $129 plus tax for a single, double, triple or quad room (about $145 total). This rate will be honored from Friday, July 17th until Wednesday, July 29th. There is complimentary self parking at the hotel.

Hotel reservations must be made directly with the Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort by June 18, 2009 to receive the special room rate. To reserve a room, you may do it online or by calling the hotel at 800-334-3417. Be sure to specify that you are with the "CHARGE Syndrome Conference" to get the special room rate. If you cancel your reservation, be sure to request a cancellation number.

Remember to mention if you will need a crib, cot or refrigerator at the time you make your reservation. These are available in limited number and on a first come first served basis. Many of our families need refrigerators for medication so please request refrigerators only if medically necessary.

If you are flying to the conference, there are two airports in the area. The closest one is Chicago's O'Hare Airport, which is 16 miles from the hotel. The other one is Midway Airport, which is 28 miles from the hotel. Shared cars are available from both airports ($23 per person to/from O'Hare and $54 for the 1st person + $8 each additional passenger for 1-3 passengers to/from Midway.)
