Chloe’s Story

Meet my daughter Chloe. She was diagnosed through genetic testing at ten days old with Charge syndrome. Durning labor Chloe went into distress and her heart rate dropped, we ended up with an emergency c-section. After finally getting Chloe to breathe she was rushed up to the NICU and by end of day she was intubated with no reason why. We soon learned she was aspirating due a rare tracheoesophageal fistula.

At just nine days old Chloe under went her first surgery to repair it. We spend 30 long and hard days in the NICU until we were finally able to go home. She was also born with low setting small ears, floppy airway, breathing and swallowing difficulties and bilateral Retina coloboma’s. She continues to see various specialists to help her maintain her health. Despite all of this Chloe, like other Chargers, is the most determined, strong, and happy kid!

This syndrome doesn’t define them. They work hard, they are strong and they don’t stop fighting.
