Who’s In Your Family?
I am mom to two wonderful boys, Jeremy (9) with CHARGE and Jeremiah (8)
What do you want people to know about your family?
- We live in Lincoln, NE
- I am a single parent, both boys were adopted through the foster care system. Jeremy was 1 when I was finally able to bring him home and Jeremiah joined our family 4 short months later.
- I work as a RN case manager for a surgical hospital that specializes in orthopedic surgery.
- Both boys attend elementary school but Jeremy attends the public school location with the deaf/hard of hearing program so he can have access to ASL and interpreters.
Why do you Volunteer with the Foundation?
I was interested in volunteering as the liaison for the state of Nebraska because I think the Foundation is a great organization and I want to work to get the resources they offer available to all those in NE that might benefit from them. I want to be available as a resource for any future parents that are just beginning their journey and are feel overwhelmed by all that is involved with our kiddos.
What activities do you like to do?
- We love just spending time together as a family
- We enjoy bowling, movies, visits to the library
- We are a hunting, fishing, camping family and enjoy visiting our farm in Kansas to get our fresh air.
- Jeremy loves all things water, light, bubbles and he is learning to love his new service dog, Aladdin, that we brought home in July.
- Jeremiah enjoys playing all sports to include soccer, baseball, wrestling, and is looking forward to trying football for the first time next fall-if his mom’s heart can handle it.
