Syndey Painter
Who is in your family?
Myself, my husband, Colby, and our son Knox (2). Plus our 3 fur babies- Zola, Dude, & Waffles!!
What do you want people to know about your family?
- We live in Augusta, Georgia (home of the Masters Golf Tournament)
- Colby is an elementary school PE teacher and I am a NICU nurse at the Children’s Hospital.
- We are currently learning ASL, along with Knox’s grandparents, aunts and uncles!
- We are extremely lucky to have a large group of family and friends who have surrounded and supported us through the last couple years.
Why do you volunteer with the Foundation?
As a NICU nurse, I was familiar with CHARGE Syndrome before Knox was born. Even having the knowledge, it is a very overwhelming time receiving that diagnosis and we received a lot of support from other families who had gone through similar situations. I hope to now be able to provide, particularly new families, with resources and support throughout their journey!
What activities do you/your family like to do
- We like to get outside and go to the lake for boat rides
- Colby is a high school football/baseball coach and Knox loves going out to watch his games
- I enjoy making things, being creative, and participating in anything crafty
- Knox loves baths, lights, music, and peppa pig!!
