Ariane is almost 16 years old! We didn’t know anything about CHARGE syndrome, about Deafblindness, or about sign language before she was born. We are so lucky to have her in our lives & are thankful for everything we have learned & everyone we have met ❤️ Loving her was never the hard part.
We learned sign language to communicate with our daughter. It completely changed our lives and allowed her to express herself and allowed us to get to know HER. We now both work full-time with the Deaf & Deafblind communities in our area. Get involved with your local Deaf community – you’ll meet wonderful individuals that’ll teach you so much and they might even become great friends!
