Feeding Tube Awareness Week – Audrey’s Story

Audrey is five years old, and her G-tube has truly been lifesaving. It allows her to get the nutrition, hydration, and medications her body needs to grow, heal, and thrive when eating by mouth isn’t safe or possible. Because of her G-tube, Audrey has the strength and energy to learn, play, and enjoy being a happy, resilient five-year-old, showing every day just how powerful the right support can be.

Feeding tube awareness is important because feeding tubes are not a last resort or a sign of failure! It’s a vital medical tool that saves lives and supports growth, health, and development. For many children, feeding tubes provide safe access to nutrition, hydration, and medications, allowing them to thrive and participate fully in daily life. Raising awareness helps stop the stigma, promote understanding, and remind us that everyone deserves the support they need to live a healthy, dignified life.
