JD was born with CHARGE Syndrome, a rare syndrome that for him includes being DeafBlind. His journey has looked different than what we expected when we first received his diagnosis, but it has been filled with joy, determination, growth, and countless accomplishments.
JD experiences the world in his own unique way. He has taught us that communication goes far beyond words and that connection can be found through touch, trust, routines, and shared experiences. He has shown us what perseverance looks like as he navigates challenges that many people never see.
He is an athlete, a friend, an advocate, and an inspiration to so many. Through Special Olympics, community activities, and everyday life, JD continues to break barriers and show others what is possible when individuals are given opportunities, support, and inclusion.
We are grateful for all that JD has taught us and look forward to all he will continue to accomplish.
