Liaison Spotlights – Spring 2026

Our Family Liaisons have been busy this Spring, spreading education and awareness about CHARGE syndrome in their areas!

Our Pennsylvania Family Liaison, Amanda Kutzura, presented at the Penn-Del AER Conference: “When Behavior is Communication: What Educators of Students with CHARGE Need to Know.”

Aubrey Williams, a Kansas Family Liaison and an adult with CHARGE syndrome, alongside Julie Maier of California Deafblind Services, presented “The Path to Self-Determination: Person-Centered Practices that Support This Journey” as a part of the SouthEast DeafBlind Collaborative Webinar Series.

Kelly Merrifield, a Family Liaison in Michigan, with Dr. Tim Hartshorne, retired Professor of Psychology at Central Michigan University and parent of Jacob, his son with CHARGE, presented “Issues in Raising a Child with CHARGE Syndrome: A Survival Guide,” a webinar for DB Central.

Our Family Liaison in Puerto Rico, David Ruiz Cardona, was invited to a disability fair, where he headed a table with information about CHARGE syndrome and spoke about CHARGE, the Foundation, and our Family Liaisons, detailing the ways in which we support families. Click here to see a video from the event.
