“We could not be more thankful for the Medical Travel Assistance Program offered through the Charge Syndrome Foundation. We live in Georgia, and started traveling up to Cincinnati for my son, Knox’s, medical care.
We applied for this program after seeing it on social media before our first trip to Cincinnati. Since that first trip, we have had to make three more trips to Cincinnati for appointments and surgeries with little time to plan in between. We have been so fortunate to have received help through the Medical Travel Assistance program each trip, allowing us to be able to focus on getting Knox the best care, instead of how we would pay for it.
The process to apply each time was quick and the application is easy to fill out. We have both driven and flown and have used this grant for gas, food, and flights.
There are so many challenges that come with getting your child good medical care and financial stress is a big one. This program allows families to not be limited in traveling for medical care, due to financial burdens. I know there are so many families out there who could benefit from this program, and I highly encourage everyone to apply when traveling for care.
