The Foundation - Board Profile

My name is Neal Stanger and I have been on the Board of Directors of the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation since 1997. I recently ended my sixth year as President in July of 2011 and am now looking forward to serve as Secretary of the Foundation until 2013
My daughter Megan (pictured with me at her Bat Mitzvah in 2007) was born in August of 1993, she was diagnosed with CHARGE syndrome in 1994 and our family attended our first International conference in 1995. At that point, I felt there was a need for more information about CHARGE and I made a decision to try and get involved in the Foundation. I was elected to the Board of Directors in 1997 and have held such positions as Communication Committee Chair, Public Relation Committee Chair, Collaboration Committee Chair, Program Committee Chair, Conference Committee Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. I have also been instrumental in starting relationships with HKNC, Perkins School for the Blind, NCDB, NFADB, DB Link and many other organizations that have the same beliefs that we do.
For those of you who know me, you will not be surprised that one of main goals for this organization is for us to be financially independent and be able to help as many families as possible and never have to think about the money involved. I urge all of you to become annual members or lifetime members of the Foundation if possible.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, whether personal or about the Foundation. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve on this wonderful board and I look forward to meeting all of you at some point in the future
