The Foundation - Board Profile

Leslie Kauffman, Director

My name is Leslie Kauffman, and I live in Mason, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati, with my husband Arlin and our daughter Katie. I have been a college textbook editor for over 20 years, primarily in the subjects of accounting, business management, American government, history, and psychology. In other words, I am a lifetime student! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

I became a member of the CHARGE Syndrome Listserv in 2002, shortly after Katie was diagnosed with CHARGE at three months’ of age. I have always been amazed at the closeness of our community of families and the wealth of knowledge they hold. In 2010, I decided to put my skills to use for the Foundation and volunteered to help edit the CHARGE Accounts newsletter. I enjoy reading the informative and uplifting stories we receive from families throughout the year.

During the 2011–2013 term, I will be co-chairing the Communications Committee along with Lisa Weir. Together we will be maintaining the Foundation web site as well as other online projects, overseeing the publishing of the online CHARGE Accounts newsletter, and looking after any other public awareness or communications issues that arise. I also hope to help with the planning of the 2013 conference, which will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

If you have any questions, are interested in being part of the Communications Committee or assisting with the 11th International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in 2013, please contact me.
