In the Fall Issue of CHARGE Accounts, we gave you general information on the 2005 International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in Miami Beach, Florida, July 22-24. Now we would like to give you a general description of what we will do during those 2-1/2 days. Actually we will start on Thursday evening with an informal get-together. This will provide us all with the opportunity to meet old friends and welcome newcomers.
Here is a tentative schedule of the events

- General Session: Speaker and Conference Wrap-up
Breakfast (Fri, Sat, Sun), Lunch (Fri, Sat), and Dinner (Sat) were group meals (included in the registration).
Childcare is provided during the meetings. It is very important that you register early so we will know how many children will be attending, their ages and any special needs. This will help us in planning activities, assigning volunteers, rooms, etc. As much as possible, we will try to accommodate everyone.
Our speakers will be from the medical, educational and other related professions and will offer a wide range of topics for you to choose from. And of course, there will be time to visit with other families and share experiences.

Remember – if you are planning to attend your first conference, you may be eligible for the Lee E. Norbury Scholarship.

To help you plan your conference budget, here are the fees and hotel rates
- Registration Fees:
- Members — $115
- Non-members — $160
- Children (3-8) — $50
- Children (under 3) — Free
- One day (Fri. or Sat.) — $75
There will be a late registration fee (after June 15) of $50 per registration and absolutely no registrations will be accepted after June 30.
Cancellations after June 30 are subject to a $25 charge per registration.
The hotel rate is $94 plus tax for a single, double, triple or quad room (about $106 total). This rate will be honored from Tuesday, July 19 thru Wednesday, July 27. If you are driving, there is a $12.00 per day charge for parking at the hotel.
Hotel reservations must be made directly with the Wyndham Miami Beach resort by June 27, 2005 to receive the special room rate. To reserve a room, call the hotel directly at 1-305-532-3600 or on the Internet go to www.wyndham.com. Be sure to specify that you are with the CHARGE Syndrome Conference (group #0721647CS) to get the special rate. Remember to mention if you will need a crib, cot or refrigerator at the time you make your reservation. If you must cancel your reservation later, be sure to request a cancellation number.
If you are flying to Miami, many of the major airlines fly into the Miami International Airport. Shuttle and taxi service are available to the hotel. For information about the area, contact the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau at 1-888-76-MIAMI.
